Ghana currently spends billions of USD annually importing refined petroleum products while exporting crude oil. This exposes the nation to:
• Foreign exchange pressure
• Fuel price instability
• Energy insecurity
• Lost industrial value
The proposed Keta Onshore Refinery & Petrochemical Complex (KORPC) will establish Ghana’s first Eastern Corridor Mega-Refinery, processing crude from the Keta–Volta Onshore Basin and imported feedstock.
This project will:
• Secure national energy sovereignty
• Create over 50,000 direct and indirect jobs
• Position Ghana as a regional energy hub
• Generate over $1.5 billion annually in economic value
